Dentistry affords me the opportunity to help others and to improve their health. We treat patients with integrity and are focused on their welfare. My life has been very rewarding because of my involvement with our wonderful staff and our patients. Most of our staff has been in this practice for 30 years! They are unique people who focus on serving patients and providing for their healthcare needs in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Dr. Hawkins graduated from Emory University and attended Post Graduate School at the University of Georgia. Afterwards, he graduated from the Emory School of Dentistry in 1978, and moved back to Gainesville to begin his practice.
Dr. Hawkins truly enjoys helping people and receives great satisfaction by improving their health. “We get to know our patients, not just as patients, but as friends we see at church, civic organizations, or in the community. I now see the children of the patients who were children when they first came to our practice, and it’s truly amazing to know multiple generations of our local families.
“I find it most rewarding when a patient smiles and says thank you. Success is the satisfaction of being proud of what you do and the enjoyment of doing it. In our practice, we treat the whole person, not just their teeth. This means we see our patients as individuals with specific needs and priorities, and we take the time to listen to them. It also means that we pay attention to how their oral health coincides with their overall health. Many times a lack of oral hygiene leads to more serious problems, and we want to help our patients live long, healthy lives”
Dr. Hawkins was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia, He and his wife, Sharon, have three sons; Ben, Jim and Charlie and four daughter, Elizabeth, Meredith, Nora and Michelle. Their oldest son Ben, has joined the dental practice. Dr. Hawkins enjoys spending quality time with my family, trout fishing and playing golf.
